Despite the city location this train station still offers a glimpse of Thailand's more rural life... Shopkeepers greet early morning shoppers.. bells ring.. monks are walking the station collecting merit and alms offering blessings and prayer in return.
The ticketing office closes a few minutes before the departure of each train.
The station master will ring a bell right before departure.
The train arrives literally 2 minutes before it's next departure from.. so turn around is very quick.. be prepared to haul yourself (on or off) in double-time.
Once the train rolls out of the station . Life carries on until the next train arrives.. and the whole process repeats itself.
This is it for all who wants to go to Maeklong.
It’s not a big station, easy to miss, inside a small alley way.
Train arrived AND left on time, so take note.
The seats are dusty and hard af.
Warning, do not stick your head out throughout the journey or you’ll 101% get hit by tree brunches or building facade.
A local train station to Mahachai station. Lots of street stands on the platform provides breakfast in the morning and many local shops along the railroad. Pretty local atmosphere.
Kinda tricky to find the ticket window behind all the cars and stands, but once you do it's a simple process. 10 baht to Maha Chai and 10 baht back. Trains come and go frequently. If you ever have a chance to make the trip, you're not losing anything with a 30¢ trip

Took BTS to WongWian Yai station, then walked to Wongwian Yai Train station just 7-10 mins. The train cost only 10THB to last station MahaChai. Very cost effective.
This little train ride makes for a fun day trip. It takes you down to the mouth of the river, where you can walk around, take photos and eat sea food. The destination is at the iconic market, where vendors pull back their goods and awnings to let the train pass. Not sure it is the same now, but when I took it the ticket cost 10 baht.
